  • The rapid growth in staff and infrastructure continues. To eliminate confusion, better convey its corporate mission and continued evolution, SVI Healthcare changes its name to PATHWARE, Inc. An intensive expanded marketing effort is undertaken to fully promote the company, its strategic direction and its product lines.
  • 2007
  • SVI Healthcare continues to expand into new markets and product/service offerings. The company achieves the best results in its history and significantly increases its research and development efforts, thus laying the foundation for continued growth and expansion.
  • 2006
  • On July 1, SVI sells its hospitality division (SVI Hospitality) to Oxford Media, Inc. Oxford Media changes its name to Oxford/SVI, and later renames it SVI Media.
  • SVI retains its healthcare division and renames the company SVI Healthcare, Inc. The company undertakes a significant investment in additional capital in new technology and resources in order to fulfill the huge potential shown by the healthcare market. The company specializes in technology solutions for the healthcare segment.
  • 2004
  • SVI completes the development of its next generation MenuPlus® dietary management solution utilizing Microsoft’s .Net technology. MenuPlus® Next Generation introduces Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) technology to the diet office.

  • SVI develops MenuPlus®, a diet office management solution for hospitals. This systems-based solution is used to automate and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of a hospital’s foodservice operations. Specific areas of focus include clinical dietary management, production management, cafeteria operations and report management.

  • SVI introduces complete Project Management, which provides its customers with a specific point of contact for effectively managing all client relationship matters, including project planning, implementation, training and ongoing service support.
  • 1996
  • SVI enters the Healthcare industry by creating Instant HealthLine®, a digital on-demand solution that delivers educational videos to hospital patients and employees on a 24/7 on-demand basis. The user can watch an educational video on virtually any television or computer in the hospital, whenever it is most convenient.
  • SVI’s operations are split into two divisions, SVI Hospitality and SVI Healthcare.

  • SVI begins providing 24/7 customer service to its customers.
  • 1993
  • SVI develops Instant Entertainment, a computerized video-on-demand movie system for mid-sized hotels. Guests select a movie by following a series of voice prompts on the telephone. Movies play on the in-room television and are paid for by using the credit card reader attached to the room phone.
  • SVI begins to build a National Service Network of field engineers to perform installation, on-site service, and maintenance of its Instant Entertainment movie systems across the country.
  • 1985
  • SVI Systems, Inc. (SVI) is formed by two businessmen in Peoria, IL: Jay M. Glazer, who owns a chain of retail stores and Richard L. Owens, who was co-founder of HBO & Company (later renamed McKesson Corporation), a computer software development company for hospitals.
  • SVI creates its first product, the Super Video Cinema movie system for economy hotels. This system consists of video cassette players and a library of videos that the hotel keeps at the front desk and rents to guests for viewing in their rooms.
  • SVI provides its customers with a toll-free customer service support line.
